If so, San Jacinto College is here to help your star shines brightest! Taught by experienced professionals from the various sectors of the drama world, we stage five to seven productions every season, giving you ample opportunities to act, write, design, direct, produce, and become involved with the technical side of the business. Universities regularly seek graduates from our renowned program, and our alumni are found in all areas of the entertainment industry – theatre, film, television, education, live event production, communications, and more! The San Jacinto College Theatre and Film program provides a balanced blend of courses in theatre performance, theatre education, and technical skills. Experience learning in spacious studios and state-of-the-art theatre to support a vibrant environment conducive to collaborative endeavors among faculty and students who share a passion for the art of theatre and film. The program is dedicated to helping students experience technical mastery, develop critical and creative thinking skills. It provides a balanced blend of courses in theatre performance, theatre education and technical skills.

The San Jacinto College Theatre and Film program opens students to pursue careers in Professional theatre or film, arts administration, education, or communications and media. The program is also designed to create a pathway to transfer to a university for those wishing to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in a variety of creative disciplines such as:

  • Actor: $15.75 per hour**
  • Makeup artist: $45,320*
  • Producers and directors: $67,442 per year*
  • Lighting or sound technician/designer: $49,448*
  • Costume designer: $37,596*
  • Set designer: $46,280**
