The Patient Care Technician program at San Jacinto College provides students with patient care skills including basic infection control measures, anatomy and physiology, cardiac monitoring, electrocardiography, phlebotomy, documentation, and clerical skills related to patient care and professional and interpersonal concepts.
Upon completion of the program and the AMCA accreditation examination, students are qualified to work under the supervision of licensed healthcare professional personnel in hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation facilities, long-term care, assisted living, hospice and home health settings.
