San Jacinto College will open today, Friday, September 20, 2019, at 7 a.m., for normal class schedules, business operations, and activities.
We understand that some students and employees may have been impacted by this week’s severe weather. Students who cannot make it to class today should email their instructor. Employees who cannot make it to work should contact their leader.
Although weather conditions in our area have improved, College administration and the Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor the weather. Any updates or changes to this notice will be distributed through email, SJC AlertMe, and will be posted on the San Jacinto College website and official social media accounts. Thank you.
Social media is an online medium that allows individuals to come together and engage in a dynamic conversation. Social media at San Jacinto College connects, engages, and shares news about the College with faculty, staff, students, alumni, partners, and members of the online community.
This form of communication provides our employees and students with the opportunity to represent the College in the online community. In doing so, it is imperative that College representatives set a positive example by upholding the highest standards in using social media to ensure the protection of student and staff privacy. Social media guidelines also protect the image, brand, proprietary information, and resources of the higher education institution; and discourage employee and student activities that do not support the College’s mission, vision, core values, learning goals, or financial well-being when represented in social media.
