The deadline to RSVP your attendance is May 8, 2023.
Day of the Ceremony Information for Graduate
Arrive by: 5:45pm. Please be on time.
Entrance: Graduates will enter through Amegy Gates, follow signs to graduate entrance.
Late Arrivals: Anyone arriving after 6:45pm will be seated after the ceremony starts where seating is available and not their assigned seat.
What not to bring: Graduates cannot carry anything into the seating area. Leave all belongings with your guests this includes purses, bubbles, flowers, etc. You cannot have anything but your name card that will be given to you at the ceremony in your hand when you cross the stage.
Cell phones: Cell phones are allowed if carried in a pocket or a very small purse worn under gown that is not visible, you cannot carry your cell phone in your hand.
What to wear: Arrive dressed in regalia. There will not be a dressing area at the stadium. Dress comfortably, for an indoor air conditioned environment. It is highly recommended that you wear comfortable shoes. There is a lot of walking on cement floors including going up and down stairs as well as standing for long periods of time, this is not the time to break in new shoes.
Ceremony length: The ceremony will last approximately 1½ - 2 hours, graduates must stay for the entire ceremony. If you do not think you can stay for the whole ceremony, please consider attending the next semesters ceremony. Graduates will not be able to exit the stadium floor once the ceremony starts.
Graduates needing special assistance (e.g., wheelchair, walkers, crutches, extra time walking) prior to, or during the ceremony should email: commencement@sjcd.edu no later than Monday, May 8, 2023.
Exiting: Graduates will be walked out and can meet their families outside in Bud Plaza.
Approximately two weeks after the ceremony an email will be sent from Parchment when diplomas have been mailed out.

Photos: San Jacinto College has hired Flash Photography to photograph each graduate as they exit the stage, you will be sent an email directly from the photographer regarding photos. You are under no obligation to purchase photos.
