Spring Commencement

Email invitations have been sent to eligible graduates. 

The deadline to RSVP your attendance is May 8, 2023.

 

Ceremony Details

Date: Friday, May 19, 2023, at 7:00 pm

Location: NRG Stadium, NRG Parkway, Houston, TX 77054

Parking: $20 per car in the Blue Lot at the Westridge gate entrance off Kirby

Guest Entrance: Guests will enter Bud Plaza and go to the left to the Ford Gate entrance. Gates will open at 5:30 pm for guest seating. Guest will have to go through baggage check upon arrival at the stadium. Please note, that doors will not open before 5:30pm and the ceremony will start promptly at 7pm.

Tickets (there are NO tickets): This is an open seating event, there are no tickets needed for guests. Once gates are open guests will be directed to open seating. There are no limits to the number of guests allowed per graduate.

Event length: The ceremony will last approximately 2 hours. Graduates cannot leave the stadium floor once the ceremony starts.

Small Children: The ceremony can be a long event for small children to sit quietly through. Please keep this in mind when considering who should attend.

Live streaming: The commencement ceremony will be lived streamed approximately one hour prior to the start of the event. Only those who walk across the stage will have their names called at the ceremony. Captioning: The event will be captioned for graduates and guests.

NRG Stadium Information

Balloons: Helium balloons are NOT allowed inside the stadium.

Strollers: Strollers cannot be brought down into the seating area; it is recommended that strollers are left in the car.

Concession Stands: Concession stands will NOT be open during the ceremony.

Seating: Stadium ushers will be available to assist guests with mobility issues on the day of the event. Guests do not need to notify us of mobility issues, they can speak to stadium ushers upon arrival.

Reconnecting with Your Graduate

Exiting: Guests are asked to remain seated as graduates are walked out. Graduates will be walked out to meet their families in Bud Plaza after the ceremony.
