Looking for something fun for the kiddos this summer? Look no further than in your own backyard at San Jacinto College! The College plans to host a variety of fun and enriching summer camps for kids of all ages at each of its three campuses. There is something for every interest from athletics and career exploration, to music and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), and everything in between.
Camp prices vary, depending on the camp. Some scholarships are even available to those who qualify to help with camp tuition. Register today!

KidSpot Summer Musical Theatre Camp for Youth | 06/06/22 | 06/10/22 | 9 am | 5 pm | KidSpot Summer Musical Theatre Camp for YouthSummer at San Jacinto College Central Theatre presents an ideal opportunity for a child to experience the range of activity possible at a theatre. We are proud and excited to present to you the fifteenth annual KidSpot Summer Musical Theatre Camp for Youth. This summer experience is formatted into a fun-filled, one-week camp. The camp will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Through active involvement, participants will develop acting skills while participating in workshops (participants will be divided in age groups). These workshops may include movement, voice, theatre games, improvisations, stage acting, film acting, character development and production. The daily rehearsals will culminate in a stage production at the end of the week. Week 1 runs June 6 through June 10. Week 2 runs June 20 through June 24. (Repeat of the first week camp). Middle School Band Camp | 06/13/22 | 06/17/22 | 9 a.m. | 1 p.m. | North | Middle School Band CampThe Middle School Band Camp is open to any talent-level of band students ages 11-15. This camp continues the tradition of quality-intensive band rehearsals and musical training for young musicians. Musical activities will vary from large rehearsals to master classes to sectionals to solo competition. Students will perform under the batons of excellent conductors and work with leading professional musicians from the greater Houston Area. Students will learn band works to perform a concert the last day of camp (Friday noon). Founded in 2004, Summer Music Camps @North has been hosting a variety of week long summer music camps every summer. Summer Music Camp clinicians and artists provide instruction, insight, and inspiration in a welcoming environment for a well-rounded musical experience. Each camp is held Monday-Friday 9am to 1pm with a Pizza Party on Friday followed by a concert for families & friends at 12 noon. The campus focus is mathematics and science related to engineering and STEM careers. A SAT Math prep will be facilitated, as it has been demonstrated that students who prepare, perform better on standardized tests. Further, there will be exciting and relevant industry speakers, particularly during a STEM immersive day, plus, a full day field trip to Space Center Houston. The groups will be divided into a woodwind choir and a brass choir. Daily musical activities will include large rehearsals, comprehensive masterclasses, and sectionals all led by some of the finest woodwind and brass musicians in Houston. The camp is designed to provide teens with the insight and skill development to be more consistent performers through an intensive program of study. During the week there will be brief recital performances by the clinicians for inspiration. The week will culminate in a joint concert of both choirs the last day of camp (Friday 12pm) for families & friends. All-State Choir Camp | 08/01/22 | 08/04/22 | 9 a.m. | 3 p.m. | Central | All-State Choir CampThe All-State Choir Camp offers an excellent learning opportunity for high school singers to help them prepare to successfully compete in the annual TMEA All-State choral audition process. The camp covers all aspects of all the audition repertoire, including learning the music, languages and pronunciation, and discovering expressive and musically interpretative aspects of the audition repertoire. All camp participants receive a packet of the entire All-State choral repertoire, a camp T-shirt, and lunches daily for the four days of the camp. Rehearsal mp3 or CD are available at the additional cost of $. A private voice lesson with one of the San Jacinto College Central voice faculty is available for each student at the additional cost of $25.The camp concludes with a public performance of some of the audition repertoire on August 4, 2022 at 2:00pm. The performance is open to the public. Previous camp participants have done very well in the annual audition process, and many have succeeded in making it into one of the TMEA All-State Choirs.
