The Department of Labor, Texas Is Information Technology “TXIT” Grant provides information technology training in 11 occupations at San Jacinto College. This opportunity will provide a short career pathway to ensure students are able to start their careers as soon as possible. This apprenticeship opportunity will be aimed at individuals who are currently unemployed or underemployed and would like to pursue a career in one of the following IT areas:
- Computer Systems Analyst
- Information Security Analyst
- Computer Programmers
- Software Developers, Applications
- Software Developers, Systems Software
- Web Developers
- Database Administrators
- Network & Computer Systems Administrators
- Computer Network Support Specialist
- Computer Systems (all other)
- Statisticians/Clinical Data Managers
Eligibility Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass employer background/drug test (if required)
