Schedule Virtual Advising

As of October 1, 2020

We are happy to share some great news with you regarding the impact of COVID-19 on your school’s Post-9/11 GI Bill students!

With the passage of H.R.8337 - Continuing Appropriations Act, 2021 and Other Extensions Act, the special COVID rules have been extended to December 21, 2021. Among other things, Post 9/11 GI Bill students who pursue resident courses converted to an online modality solely due to COVID 19 will continue to receive the MHA rate for resident training.

We will provide more information soon via our FAQ page.

 Respectfully,

Education Service

This means when you are looking for courses to enroll in Spring 2021, you have the flexibility to enroll in online courses and receive your housing. The Veteran Services Team  will continue to keep you up to date with information as we receive it.

Greetings

School Certifying Officials (SCO) are currently certifying veteran education benefits for Fall 2020.

Spring Registration opens for all students October 19, 2020

  •  Veteran Services has a new VETERAN CERTIFICATION REQUEST FORM tab (to the left of the page) on our home page or click on this link  https://www.sanjac.edu/form/va-certification-request-form .
  • Under this tab, you can submit your request to certify and supporting documentation electronically for upcoming semesters.  Remember you must request certification every semester.
  • Submission of certification is accepted at anytime.
  • Incomplete requests or initial requests after payment deadline, require a payment plan to hold registered classes.  The Business Office drops classes that are not paid and cannot apply benefits with prior semester outstanding fees.
  • It is important to check your student account in SOS periodically for any charges that are not covered by your benefits.
  • Students using veteran education benefits may drop and add classes up until the request to certify benefits has been submitted.
  • If you drop or add after your benefits have been certified, you must contact veterans@sjcd.edu or a School Certifying Official to update your certification.
