YuJa Transition Timeline

November 30, 2021

  • Communication will be sent to faculty provide details on next steps and training opportunities.

December 1, 2021

  • YuJa will be made available on the SJC Blackboard System and faculty will see the tool appear in their tool choices. Faculty may activate their YuJa account once they have attended training. 

December 2, 2021

  • Faculty training will be offered by YuJa personnel via Zoom. Two sessions are scheduled - at 10:00 am and at 2:00 pm. Faculty who are scheduled to teach during the Winter Mini semester are encouraged to attend these sessions. Links to the training will be distributed via College email. 
  • Faculty may begin using YuJa. For training and support beyond the YuJa session, faculty may reach out to a campus Instructional Designer or use the YuJa training resources available at https://www.sanjac.edu/yuja-media.  Additional resources will be added in the coming weeks.
  • Content to support students use of YuJa can be accessed via the Online Student Resources webpage. 

December 10, 2021

  • There should be no new recordings produced in Kaltura after December 10. Kaltura links will remain active for viewing of existing videos. Any videos created in Kaltura from this point on will NOT be included in the migration process.  

December 13, 2021 – December 30, 2021 (Winter Mini Semester)

  • Kaltura links in courses will remain active for viewing of existing videos..
  • Faculty and student should use YuJa to create and share new media content.

December 13, 2021 – March 31, 2022

  • Content migration from Kaltura to the YuJa system will occur. Migrated content from the Kaltura system should be automatically associated with the user’s account in YuJa if the faculty has activated their YuJa login.
  • Content will remain accessible for viewing only in Kaltura until March 31, 2022.

January 10 – 14, 2022 (College Community Week)

  • Faculty training will be offered by YuJa during College Community Week.  These sessions will be recorded and made available to faculty for on-demand viewing if they are unable to attend a live session.
  • For training and support beyond the YuJa session, faculty may reach out to a campus Instructional Designer or use the YuJa resources available at https://www.sanjac.edu/yuja-media.  Additional resources will be added in the coming weeks.
  • Content to support students use of YuJa can be accessed via the Online Student Resources webpage. 

January 17 – March 25, 2022

  • Faculty should update any links to Kaltura content in their course sites to the content that is moved to the YuJa platform.
  • Faculty can attend scheduled campus Open Labs to receive Instructional Designer support for relinking media content. Open Lab schedule will be distributed to faculty during College Community Week in January 2022.

March 31, 2022

  • Content in Kaltura Media will no longer be available and all access to media will be through files transitioned to the YuJa platform.
