The training was led in the College’s new Center for Biotechnology on the Generation Park Campus by Gregory Fendley, U.S. product manager for ChemoMetec, providing San Jacinto College faculty with in-depth instruction on operating the high-throughput, automated cell analysis system widely used in bioprocessing and biomanufacturing environments.

By integrating industry-standard equipment into instruction, San Jacinto College ensures students gain experience with the same technologies used in commercial production facilities, reducing onboarding time and training costs for employers.

Through the San Jacinto College Center for Biotechnology, the College offers a comprehensive suite of workforce solutions for the life sciences industry, including associate degrees, certificates, and stackable credentials in biomanufacturing and biotechnology, as well as dual-credit pathways that help build an early talent pipeline. In addition to academic programs, San Jacinto College partners directly with employers to provide customized incumbent-worker training, upskilling, and reskilling, supporting everything from process fundamentals to advanced bioprocessing techniques. These offerings allow industry partners to scale talent efficiently while maintaining consistent quality and regulatory readiness across their workforce.

Providing our faculty with direct training from ChemoMetec experts ensures our students are learning on the tools and platforms they will encounter in the workforce. This training and equipment strengthen our partnerships with industry by delivering graduates who are job-ready from day one and familiar with high-throughput, automated cell analysis workflows.
