PASADENA, Texas —San Jacinto College is making positive changes to its Continuing and Professional Development (CPD) division to deliver a more unified, innovative, and student-centered experience for the community.
The reimagined CPD structure streamlines access to training, education, and workforce development by bringing together multiple programs under one coordinated “Center”. Students and employers will benefit from a single point of contact, seamless registration, and expanded offerings that reflect the most in-demand skills across industries.
“Our goal is to remove barriers and make it easier for students and partners to connect with the opportunities we provide,” said Dr. Sarah Janes, associate vice chancellor, continuing and professional development. “This new structure ensures that no matter where you enter the system, you experience San Jacinto College CPD as one connected unit focused on your success.”
As part of the transformation, CPD will introduce new industry-aligned programs, develop more “shelf-ready” training options, and expand contract training to meet specific employer needs. The updated model also strengthens connections between continuing and credit education, offering students clear pathways to pursue additional credentials or degrees.
The CPD division will now operate through four specialized centers that align with employer relationships and workforce needs:
“This transformation positions San Jacinto College to better serve not only our students, but also the employers and community partners who rely on us for talent development,” said Janes.
With these updates, San Jacinto College CPD strengthens its role as a trusted partner for workforce training and lifelong learning—providing greater opportunities for individuals to reimagine their futures and for businesses to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing economy.
