Federal and State Grants

Get cash for college! Grants are a form of financial aid that you don’t need to pay back —that means less money that you need to pay out-of-pocket for your education. There are several federal and state grants available for different types of students, including dual credit students. Explore grant opportunities and learn how to apply. 

Federal Grants

The Federal Pell Grant, Workforce Pell, and the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) are three federal grants for students displaying exceptional financial need. Students must fill out the FAFSA to determine their eligibility for these grants.

Federal Pell Grant

Pell Grants are typically awarded only to undergraduate students who display exceptional financial need and have not yet earned a bachelor's, graduate, or professional degree.

Workforce Pell

The Workforce Pell Grant is awarded to students enrolled in federally approved short-term workforce training programs.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is for undergraduate students displaying exceptional financial need beyond their initial need for the Pell Grant. The FSEOG program is provided directly by the financial aid office at San Jac.

State Grants

San Jac provides state-funded grants to students who demonstrate financial need. Students eligible for federal and state aid must fill out the FAFSA to be considered. Check out the state-funded grants we disburse.

Texas Public Education Grants

Texas Public Education Grants (TPEG) are various grants funded from tuition revenues by San Jac. These grants are awarded to students showing financial need as part of our TPEG Program.

Texas Educational Opportunity Grants

Texas Educational Opportunity Grants are grants available for students who apply early and meet all of the state requirements.
