Occupational Description

9-1-1 dispatchers are the calm voice in a crisis. They answer emergency and non-emergency calls, ask clear questions, enter details into computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and send the right help. Dispatchers guide callers until responders arrive and keep teams updated so everyone stays safe.

Graduates often start as public safety telecommunicators (911 dispatchers), communications officers, or emergency management communicators. You’ll learn skills employers need in 24/7 centers, including call control, clear communication, and dispatch tools. Many students later move up to lead trainer or supervisor roles.
