Looking for something fun for the kiddos this summer? Look no further than in your own backyard at San Jacinto College! The College plans to host a variety of fun and enriching summer camps for kids of all ages at each of its three campuses. There is something for every interest from athletics and career exploration, to music and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), and everything in between.

Camp prices vary, depending on the camp. Some scholarships are even available to those who qualify to help with camp tuition. Register today!

KidSpot Summer Musical Theatre Camp for Youth

Summer at San Jacinto College Central Theatre (8060 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, 77505) presents an ideal opportunity for a child to experience the range of activity possible at a theatre. We are proud and excited to present to you the thirteenth annual KidSpot Summer Musical Theatre Camp for Youth. This summer experience is formatted into a fun-filled, one-week camp. The camp will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday with extended drop off/pick up times available for an extra fee. Through active involvement, participants will develop acting skills while participating in workshops. These workshops may include movement, voice, theatre games, improvisations, stage acting, film acting, character development and production. The daily rehearsals will culminate in a stage production at the end of the week.

Week 1 runs June 1 through June 5. Week 2 runs June 8 through June 12. (Repeat of the first week camp).

Age: 5-18

Cost: $150 per week; $275 for both weeks

Time: 9 am - 5 pm (early and late drop off/pickup for an additional charge)

Middle School Band Camp - Canceled 9:00am 1:00pm North

Middle School Band Camp - Canceled

The Middle School Band Camp is open to any talent-level of band students ages 11-15. This camp continues the tradition of quality-intensive band rehearsals and musical training for young musicians. Musical activities will vary from large rehearsals to master classes to sectionals to solo competition. Students will perform under the batons of excellent band conductors and work with leading professional musicians from the Houston Area. Students will learn band works to perform a concert the last day of camp (Friday noon). Founded in 2004, Summer Music Camps @North has been hosting a variety of week long summer music camps every summer. Summer Music Camp clinicians and artists provide instruction, insight, and inspiration in a welcoming environment for a well-rounded musical experience.

Each camp is held Monday-Friday 9 am to 1 pm with a Pizza Party on Friday followed by a concert for families & friends at 12 noon. Snacks are provided; students are to bring sack lunch every day except for Friday (we’ll host a Pizza Party)

Pathway to the Stars-A free STEM Summer Camp 8:30 am 4:30 pm Central

Pathway to the Stars-A free STEM Summer Camp

Launch into summer fun with the FREE Pathway to the Stars Summer camps. This camp provides enriching education and activities to middle school students to improve their achievement and interest in STEM subjects. These FREE one week-long camps at San Jacinto College campuses are focused on students learning about NASA’s Artemis project and its upcoming journey to MARS. Topics include the engineering design cycle, rocketry, parachute landings, survival systems, space weather, navigation, robotics, and more.. Space industry guest speakers will provide insight on the challenging issues and solutions needed for long duration space travel.

Age: 10-14

Dates: June 8-12, June 15-19, June 22-26, July 6-10, July 13-17, and July 20-24, 2020

Cost: FREE -- but students can only attend ONE week of camps

Location: TBD on each campus

Maritime Venture Camp

The San Jacinto College Maritime Ventures Camp is a fun, exciting way for 14 to 17 year olds to learn all about the maritime industry.  Campers will have the opportunity to explore exciting careers available in the area's thriving maritime industry. The camp includes a entertaining and educational maritime adventures and will be held at the brand new Maritime Campus. Students will take field trips on vessels and get to explore the Houston Ship Channel.

Piano camp - Canceled

Under the tutelage and direction of Dr. Kinghchi Au, the Piano Camp welcomes youth ages 6-10 (grades 1 - 5) and is designed for beginner level youth. The camp activities vary from fundamental skills & drills, masterclasses, piano ensemble in our state-of-the-art piano lab, basic music theory, and musical enrichment. Students will learn piano ensemble pieces to perform on a recital the last day of camp (Friday at 12 m) for families and friends.

Summer Music Camp clinicians and artists provide instruction, insight, and inspiration in a welcoming environment for a well-rounded musical experience. The clinic is a technique clinic to help you become a better softball player. The clinic is designed to teach progressions, offer constructive criticism and to give you assistance in improving your techniques and training. The clinic will bring some new and exciting drills. We will work on offense and defense.

The Woodwind & Brass camp - Canceled

The Woodwind & Brass camp is open to high school-level woodwind players and brass players.  The groups will be divided into a woodwind choir and a brass choir. Daily musical activities will include large rehearsals, comprehensive masterclasses, and sectionals all led by some of the finest woodwind and brass musicians in Houston. The camp is designed to provide teens with the insight and skill development to be more consistent performers through an intensive program of study. During the week there will be brief recital performances by the clinicians for inspiration. There will also be a session on how to be a leader in a musical setting. Summer Music Camp clinicians and artists provide instruction, insight, and inspiration in a welcoming environment for a well-rounded musical experience.
