Artists for Hope raises more than $5,000 for charity

The South Campus dance program hosted the 11th annual Artists for Hope event Feb. 6 and 7. This year’s program raised $5,574 for the Dash Gordon Foundation, an organization that provides support, resources, and opportunities for special needs, disabled, and at-risk communities.
 
The weekend celebration of dance brought together 275 concert attendees for performances, featuring 28 dance companies and independent artists with 130 performers.

The event included 10 master classes throughout the weekend, drawing more than 65 San Jacinto College students and community members. The International Dance Film Festival showcased eight films selected from submissions spanning the Netherlands, Canada, the United States and Spain. The film festival will stream online through Feb. 13.
