Tabitha Godinez’s story has intersected with San Jac for two decades — twice as a student and now twice as an employee.
“San Jac isn’t just a step in my story,” she said. “It’s woven through every chapter.
This place gave me space to become who I am. And now I get to do the same for someone
else.”

Local youth experienced mind-blowing science at San Jac’s Mind Trekkers STEM Festival March 13-14. The event included daytime STEM activities for 4,200 sixth graders and a family night open to the public.

In February 2025, the South Campus Dance Program celebrated 10 years of Artists for Hope, a dance concert that supports local charities. A personal loss motivated dance professor Jamie Williams to create the event to give back to the community. A collaboration with other local dance companies, Artists for Hope this year supported Pour into Houston, which provides accessible mental health care to underserved Houstonians.

San Jac welcomed families for free fun during the second annual Flock to the Block at the Central Campus April 5. The event included San Jac program/resource booths, carnival-style games, bounce houses, food, a DJ, and more.

When eye care technology student Sebastian Solis helped provide free eye exams to Pasadena ISD students, he suddenly realized See to Succeed was the same service-learning program he had benefitted from as a 6-year-old with vision issues.
“It was an aha moment,” he said.
Solis’ story is one example of San Jac’s reach. We’re the top community college in Texas for a good reason — our people. San Jac is locally and nationally recognized for excellent education, workforce training, and community impact because of our dedicated students, employees, and supporters.
