Two Grants, One Application
Finding child care—and finding a way to pay for it—often isn't easy. But we try to make the process as simple as possible for you. With one application, you can potentially tap into one of two grants we offer:
- Affordable Accredited Child Care Equals Student-Parent Success (AACCESS)
- Perkins Child Care Assistance

AACCESS Child Care Assistance
With AACCESS child care assistance, you can get reimbursed for a percentage of your child care expenses.
Eligibility Requirements
Qualifications include:
- A minimum GPA of 2.0
- Enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours per semester
- Must attend two parent/family activities per semester
- Must complete a FAFSA application for current academic year
- Must complete the AACCESS Parent Agreement PDF
- Priority funding for single parent families
Family Events
Participating AACCESS student-parents will be required to attend one of these events per term, along with their children, as part of the parent agreement included in the AACCESS application process.
Be on the lookout for upcoming events. Past events include Family Literacy Night, Family Science Night, Week of the Young Child, and OLE! Playground.
Parent Events
Participating AACCESS student-parents will be required to attend at least one of the programs (examples listed below) per semester, as part of the parent agreement when applying for the AACCESS program. Events may include, but are not limited to:
- Mental health informational presentation
- Community resources presentation
- Financial literacy presentation
- Paying for school workshop
- CHIP, Medicaid, and other healthcare resources
- Nutrition education, including Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), home gardening
- College resources and services presentation

Perkins Child Care Assistance
Perkins support programs are designed for students with special or unique circumstances. If eligible, you could have some or all your childcare expenses reimbursed via a Perkins grant at San Jac.
You must be enrolled in a career and technical education major (A.A.S. or certificate) or prerequisite program
Have a GPA of 2.00 or greater in previous coursework
Your child must be enrolled in a licensed childcare facility at the time of application Funds may be used at any licensed daycare facility, including the Lab School Childcare Center
Child care funding is only available for days and times you are attending classes at San Jac
