An Accredited Child Care Provider

Our Lab School on Central Campus is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and a recognized Texas Rising Star provider. It is licensed by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services and is in good standing with the state of Texas.

Year-Round Early Childhood Education from Infant to Pre-K

Our Lab School provides care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years and follows the academic calendar of San Jacinto College.

The Laboratory Schools serves as a training ground for students in our education programs. By working in the school, these students gain real experience working with children and applying the theories learned in their classes.

The philosophy of the Laboratory School is to provide responsible, nurturing care using positive guidance techniques in a developmentally appropriate setting that fosters the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children.

Enrollment is open to San Jacinto College students, faculty/staff/administrators, and families from the community. Enrollment is for one semester during the fall, spring, or summer terms. Currently enrolled children will be able to pre-register at the end of each semester for the following semester. The adult enrolling the child must be the parent or legal guardian.

Please keep the following in mind:

All families are placed on the waitlist on a first come, first serve basis
The Central Campus Laboratory School prioritizes enrollment for the children of current San Jac students
Upon availability, families will be contacted to discuss classroom availability for each individual child

Get Help Paying for Childcare

The goal of the Campus Financial Aid Services Office is to provide financial assistance students need to pursue their education. That applies to helping the families of San Jac students as well. Learn about grants available to qualified students who need help affording childcare. Parents who pursue a technical career program at San Jacinto College may also qualify for child care assistance. Contact the Special Populations Coordinator on your campus for applications and guidelines.

The cost of attendance depends on the age of your child, the contract terms you select (which days your child will be attending each week), and whether you are a current San Jac student. Please note that there is a 10% discount on tuition for each additional child in the same family. Discounts will be taken at a lower rate.

Registration/supply fee: Non-Refundable $200 per child

Registration/supply fee will be prorated after June 1st at a rate of 25% of the initial registration/supply fee
Registration/supply fee for additional children in the same family will be $125 per child

Other fees:

Late payment fee: $10 per week
Late pick-up fee: $20 for 1-5 minutes, +$2.00 for each minute thereafter
Late drop-off fee: $15 for 1-10 minutes, +$1.00 for each minute thereafter
Contract change fee: $30 administrative fee (only applies after term starts)
Extra day attendance**: $10 administrative fee + daily rate (**contracted families only)
