Scholarships

At San Jacinto College, we are determined to help you achieve your dreams. One way we do that is through departmental scholarships. Our music scholarship is available to both music and audio engineering majors. Find out if you qualify and how to apply!

Application Steps

The music scholarship isn’t complicated, but there are a few things you need to do to qualify.
  1. Apply and Audition

Fill out the application paperwork and audition (if required) each semester.

  2. Keep Your Grades Up

Your cumulative GPA must be at least a 2.0. You may not drop any music classes.

  3. Enroll in Nine Credit Hours

Each semester an award is given, you must be enrolled in at least nine credit hours and pass a minimum of six credit hours.

  4. Join an Ensemble

You must be enrolled in an ensemble to receive the scholarship.

  5. Follow Your Award Letter

Your award letter will tell you what classes you need to take each semester. Make sure you enroll in those classes to remain eligible.

  6. Finish in Six Semesters

You may only receive scholarship funds for up to six semesters without written approval from the Scholarship Committee.

  7. Stay Focused

Work hard and stay focused on your studies. Your scholarship renewal may be denied if you fail a music course or have documented disciplinary incident(s) with the College and/or the department.
