PASADENA, Texas — The San Jacinto College softball team opens the 2022 season at No. 8 in the National Junior College Athletic Association pre-season poll.

"We are looking forward to getting back on the field this season," said head coach Kelly Saenz. "Last year was a great year for us finishing third at the national tournament, but it always leaves you wanting more. We have a solid roster that is ready to put in the work to win."

San Jac is coming off of a record-setting season with its highest-ever finish at the national tournament. Seven players return in key positions, and Saenz has again put together a pitching rotation that is one of the best in the country.

The Coyotes open the season Saturday at home against Chipola College. In early February the team will play in the Galveston College Island Invitational, which is being held in Pasadena at Crenshaw Park.
